Fair to good audience film, done from the left side (Geezer’s side). The London ’82 film looks a bit better than London ’81, but not by much. The image quality is still quite blurry on the 3rd generation copy I have, but at least we get some nice camera shots here to follow the action on stage. From the angle at which the filmer is shooting, we can often see all four members of the band playing.
Like the London ’81 film (which was probably done by the same person), London ’82 is one of very few concert videos available of the Dio-Appice-Iommi-Butler lineup. It’s unfortunate that fans of the MOB RULES era will have tolerate such mediocre footage to see these guys in action during that tour. Aside from the silent LIVE EVIL reels, this is currently the best footage available of a nearly complete show from this tour.
To make matters worse, the audio track for London ‘82 is quite poor due to the excess distortion in the source tape. The first half of the show is complete, but the songs get a bit fragmentary after “War Pigs”. It’s possible that the filmer didn’t have enough film or battery life to get the complete show, so they cut the camera on to capture the highlights towards the end. The running time is approximately 57 minutes.
