(QUOTE)

Thin Lizzy live at
the Dominion Theater. Evidently, the video had only recently been
re-discovered.
Everyone had thought that all copies of the video had been destroyed, since
Philip had hated it. He thought that the band didn't look particularly
good in the
video, due in no small part to the fact that Snowy White hardly moved at
all on stage and was a total bore to watch. The show had originally been
filmed with the intention of commercial release, but Philip hated it.
Consequently, it was shelved.
The footage that we were treated to appeared to have been filmed largely
from
a balcony on the side of the stage. Truthfully, it was nowhere near as
exciting
to watch as the Live And Dangerous video. Yet, it was still a great thrill
to see unreleased concert footage of Thin Lizzy of ANY sort. Let's face it,
there isn't a whole lot of legitimate Lizzy footage out there, so ANYTHING
is pretty exciting.
And in reality the footage that I saw was no worse (and probably better)
than the "The Boys Are Back In Town" video, although anyone would admit
that Gary
Moore is 100% more exciting to watch on stage than Snowy White.
So there you have it. Yes, the Dominion Theater footage *does* exist,
although
it's doubtful that it'll ever be released. After all, why would the band's
management want to release a rare live concert, when they can release a box
set
made up of 95% previously released studio material that requires no remixing
or remastering?
Think about it. ;-)
